I bought a house recently through Gerry and moved to Roscommon fron the UK with my son. The whole process was very smooth,Gerry recommended a local Surveyor & a Solicitor, both of them proved excellent and he also arranged for a Telephone line to be installed & the Oil tank filled before we arrived.
It was a great help in what can be a daunting process. Our new Neighbours have made us very welcome and my son is now happy & content in the local Primary School.
I wish i had done this years ago!

Gerry had us pegged just right, and showed us three places all of which fit the critea. The hardest part was making our minds up as to which one we’d chose and time was running out. We went back for a second viewing on two we’d narrowed down and stayed an extra night at the B&B. On the third day we’d decided, seen the solicitor and the ball was well and truely rolling.
That was October. By December we’d moved in just two days before Christmas.
Gerry and Anne were absolute stars throughout the whole process and beyond, they guided us through what happens and when, were able to help us find the best solicitor I’ve ever dealt with, someone to help us with the move from the UK and a mine of information and help after the event too. They’ve always been happy to share their local knowledge no matter how busy they are, wether it be shops, turf supplies, tv engineers or plumbers. I can’t praise or thank Gerry enough. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Gerry and I have sung his praises to my family and friends. We still pop in to see him every now and again and we haven’t forgotten we’re still taking you out as a heartfelt, massive THANK YOU! We really can’t believe our good luck, we’re so happy.

I have been fortunate to have dealt with Gerry Coffey’s Auctioneers on two occasions and both times I have had no room to complain.
The second time Mr Coffey sold my house, I was a single lady and on my own and he took all the stress out of selling the house for me. Gerry Coffey’s Auctioneers on my mind are very professional and I would not hesitate to recommend then.
Mr Coffey and Anne not only dealt with all the paper work and explained in full what was happening, they even found me a wonderful solicitor.
Even when the house was sold they made sure that I was okay. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and professional way to selling my house.

We are a couple in our mid-late 50s who came to Ireland in 2006 seeking a quieter pace of life. Although we had no family ties to Ireland, we had spent several holidays in Ireland and had enjoyed the slower pace and friendliness of the Irish people.
Our main aims when we sold our house in England were to capitalise on the investment in the house, to downsize and to slow down. We opted for this area of Ireland because properties were relatively cheap and there would be no language barrier.
The property that we bought is situated in a village consisting of 12 properties with most of the neighbours having been born and bred in the village and their roots firmly established in the place. For this reason, we wondered whether we might be regarded with a degree of frostiness or suspicion as “blow ins” but we couldn’t have been more wrong and everyone has bent over backwards to be as friendly as possible.
Another advantage of living in this area is the closeness to Knock Airport. The major downside here is the lack of public transport and a car is really essential.
All in all, if you are looking for peace and quiet, and are happy to listen to the birds singing rather than someone’s MP3 player buzzing away – this is the place for you.
We would like to thank Gerry Coffey and his staff for all their help in finding us such a wonderful home.
